Comedy Stock Exchange Season 2: Anil Ravipudi’s OTT show returns for a new season

This is the election season and politics is the flavour of the day everywhere, including the entertainment industry. Telugu film teams are resorting to innovative promotional strategies to garner attention through political satires, references. If team Hi Nanna commenced their campaign by announcing Nani as their ‘leader’, now another OTT show follows suit, lending it a juicy political twist ahead of release.

Director Anil Ravipudi hogged the limelight earlier this week, sharing a still where he’s dressed up in a white shirt and dhoti like a politician, leaving his fans guessing. Leading OTT platform aha, hinting at a collaboration with the filmmaker for a web original, created more intrigue with their campaign. However, it’s now official that this was to officially announce a new season of Comedy Stock Exchange.

For the uninitiated, Comedy Stock Exchange is a Telugu standup comedy show on aha, on the lines of Jabardasth and Extra Jabardasth, where comedians come up with a wide variety of skits to impress the judges (including Anil Ravipudi). A promotional video for Comedy Stock Exchange Season 2 confirms that popular Telugu comedians Bhaskar and Gyaneshwar Putta will also be part of the show.

Both the seasons of Comedy Stock Exchange are exactly arriving when Anil Ravipudi has the right break before moving onto a new project. While the first season of the show arrived right after F3 and before the shoot of Bhagavanth Kesari, the filmmaker has some time left as he awaits the commencement of his next project (with Ravi Teja, as suggested by reports).

Meanwhile, Bhagavanth Kesari has turned out to be one of the biggest hits in Anil Ravipudi’s career. Starring Balakrishna, Sreeleela, Kajal Aggarwal and Arjun Rampal, the film was produced by Shine Screens. The film’s post-theatrical rights were bagged by Amazon Prime Video and it is expected to be out on OTT in the coming week.
