Award-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty's response to SS Rajamouli's period film RRR - about it being 'a gay love story' - has left the Internet divided over the last few days. While some felt that everyone had a right to voice their opinion, a large section, including Baahubali producer Shobu Yarlagada and the media, opined that the comment wasn't only cheap in taste but also reflected his insecurity over the film's success. MM Keeravaani too made a cheeky comment on the ongoing controversy.

In a response to Resul's tweet, MM Keeravaani wrote, "May be I am bad at uSING uPPER case and loWER case whILE tYPINg leTTERs but I reSPECt every person's FReedoM of ExPRESsion incluDING OF rasool POOKUtty's." There's more to the tweet than what it appears to be and the composer tried to convey his point using a mishmash of letter cases. However, he deleted it after it went viral. The damage was still done and many RRR enthusiasts managed to take a snapshot of his comment and made memes out of it.

MM Keeravaani didn't leave it at that. Resul Pookutty had also mentioned that Alia Bhatt looked nothing but a prop in the film. While referencing both comments, Keeravaani, earlier today, asked how can someone take note of Ajay Devgn's character alone and forget the efforts of the roles played by Jr NTR, Ram Charan and Alia Bhatt in the course of the story. He also deleted this tweet soon and perhaps the attempt was to make a statement and leave silently.

However, we live in a digital world and nothing here can be left to doubt. The tweets only prove that how the biggest of names in the industry are not beyond their vices and the comment made by Resul Pookutty was totally uncalled-for. While he may have voiced his personal opinion on the portrayal of the lead characters' equation in the film, the comment sounded more homophobic than like a well-articulated opinion. RRR is streaming in multiple languages on ZEE5 and Netflix.
