Radhe Shyam, the epic romance saga directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, starring Prabhas, Pooja Hegde, Bhagyashree, Sachin Khedekar and others in pivotal roles is releasing in five languages on March 11, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. While the South Indian versions have music by Justin Prabhakaran, the background score for the same has been composed by S Thaman. The music director was extremely optimistic about its fortunes, while in a conversation with the media on Monday.
"Radhe Shyam as a film feels like a first love for a composer. Everyone knows the capabilities of Prabhas. While he showed his stamina with Baahubali, you'll get to see his heart in Radhe Shyam. The film is technically brilliant and it's as if everyone handheld one another through the making, be it the cameraman Manoj Paramahamsa or director Radha Krishna Kumar or art director Raveendar Reddy. Everybody had a huge imagination and didn't compromise on the quality," he said.
Showering immense praise on the director and his vision, Thaman stated, "One can't compose a good score if there's no life in the film. Radha, the director, has given us a great film. We may have seen many iconic love stories in the past like Mughal E Azam. Radhe Shyam will be Telugu cinema's answer to such classics. It is a lovely film and the score came through quite naturally. The romance in the film is pure, sensitive and that's why everything fell in place. Justin Prabhakaran did justice to his music and it was very easy to blend his music into the film score."
"Everyday, we were finding another reason to love Radhe Shyam, looking for ways to better it. Radhe Shyam was like a rose petal, so delicate and we had to make sure our efforts enhanced its beauty. Prabhas has taken Telugu cinema across the globe and the entire world is waiting for the release of Radhe Shyam. This is my first film with Prabhas and I couldn't have asked for a better start. With Radha Krishna Kumar, I can say Telugu cinema has found a new Mani Ratnam. I am not exaggerating things when I say this," he further added.
He admitted that the team was indeed nervous about the result, but also mentioned, "We may be sweating and anxious today - we experience such a feeling either when we're about to propose to our girlfriend and or awaiting the release of our film. We left nothing to chance here and are doing everything to deliver the best results. UV Creations has a great team. I worked with them for Mahanubhavudu and Bhaagmathie, the lowest phase in my career and they gave me an opportunity when not many did. Radhe Shyam is my attempt to give back to the team."
