It looks like director Nelson Dilipkumar's debut film, Kolamaavu Kokila is all set to get a sequel. The news was confirmed by none other than Yogi Babu during the audio launch of Superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer. It is to be noted that Yogi Babu was seen in a crucial role in Kolamaavu Kokila, who falls in love with Nayanthara's character.

The 2018 film had Nayanthara playing the lead with Yogi Babu, Saranya Ponvannan, RS Shivaji, Charles Vinoth, Hareesh Peradi, Jacqueline, Rajendran, Saravanan, Redin Kingsley, Arun Alexander to name a few. The black comedy had music by Anirudh Ravichander, and was bankrolled by Lyca Productions. Kolamavu Kokila opened to positive reviews from the critics and audience.

The plot revolves around Kokila (Nayanthara) who voluntarily gets involved with a drug trafficking mafia in a small town, to save her mother from terminal cancer. The success of the film led to its remake in Hindi. The Hindi remake titled Good Luck Jerry was directed by debutant Sidharth Sengupta and starred Janhvi Kapoor in the lead. The film dropped on Disney + Hotstar on July 29.

In the meantime, Nelson Dilipkumar is busy with his upcoming film Jailer, which marks his maiden collaboration with Superstar Rajinikanth. Rajinikanth plays jailer Muthuvel Pandian who is tasked with the responsibility of handling a ruthless gang of convicts. The film has an ensemble cast which comprises Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, Tamanaah, Sunil, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, Vinayakan to name a few.

Jailer marks Nelson's fourth collaboration with Anirudh after Kolamaavu Kokila, Don and Beast. On the other hand, the film marks Anirudh's third collaboration with the Superstar after Petta and Darbar. The audio launch of Jailer was held recently and it turned out to be a star-studded affair with actors from different industries in attendance. The film is bankrolled by Sun Pictures and is all set to hit screens worldwide on August 10.
