Confirmed! James pre-release event to be held in Bengaluru on Sunday

Yes, the team of late Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar’s James is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the run-up to its release is as grand as possible. Having dropped two lyrical videos, the second of which, Salaam Soldier was released by Kiccha Sudeep, the next step we are told is a mega pre-release event. To be held at the Bengaluru Palace Grounds on Sunday, March 13, 7 pm onward, the event is open to the public. Apart from the cast and crew of the film, the who’s who of Sandalwood is expected to be at the event, as a tribute to Puneeth, considering that James will be his last commercial film.

Directed by Chethan Kumar and produced by Kishore Pathikonda, James has Puneeth as Santhosh Kumar, an agent of an elite security agency, tasked with taking on the mafia. Puneeth’s character also has an army background, as is evident from the Salaam Soldier song that has been released. The film, a commercial entertainer, is high on action, with stunts by Ravi Varma, Ram-Laxman and Chethan Dsouza. The film, which is getting a five-language release in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi, has music by MR Charanraj, while V Harikrishna has chipped in for the re-recording.

James, which paired Puneeth with his Raajakumara co-star Priya Anand yet again, also has Shivarajkumar and Raghavendra Rajkumar in cameos, which were canned after the Power Star’s demise. Shivarajkumar has also dubbed for Puneeth, as the actor was still in the process of winding up the film at the time of his tragic passing in October last year.
