It's official! Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal has indeed joined the sets of Superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer. The team dropped a new poster from the film, featuring Mohanlal and the actor is seen in a stylish avatar standing next to a window. He is also seen sporting a beard and wearing glasses. The production house captioned the picture, "Lalettan @mohanlal from the sets of #Jailer (sic)." For the last couple of days, speculations have been rife that Mohanlal has joined the sets of the film in Hyderabad. Now that it's official, fans can heave a sigh of relief. It seems the actor has given a two-day call sheet for the film and that he will be seen in a cameo role.

In the meantime, Rajinikanth recently flew down from Chennai to Hyderabad for the next schedule. Pictures of the actor from the airport have been doing the rounds on social media. Jailer marks the debut of Kannada Superstar Shiva Rajkumar as well and with Mohanlal, too, joining the sets, it seems like the Jailer team has indeed pulled off a coup. The Jailer team had not long ago dropped a glimpse of Rajinikanth from the film, in which he is seen getting ready to step out of his house.

The star cast for the film includes Ramya Krishnan, Vinayakan, Yogi Babu and Vasanth Ravi to name a few. Ramya Krishnan and Rajinikanth are teaming up for a film after a long hiatus. The last time they had worked together was in Padayappa (1999) after which Ramya was seen in a cameo in Baba where she reprised her popular character Neelambari from Padayappa.

Music for the film is by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan and editing by R Nirmal. The film has been bankrolled by Sun Pictures. Jailer is slated to hit mid-summer this year and since Rajinikanth's last release Annatthe met with a lukewarm response, a lot is riding on Jailer.
