Baahubali actress Tamannaah Bhatia is all set to make her Malayalam debut with Dileep-starrer, which will be helmed by Arun Gopy. The movie, which is scripted by Udaykrishna, had its pooja held in Kottarakkara on Thursday.
The film, which is produced by Ajith Vinayaka, is touted to be a big budget venture and marks the second collaboration between Dileep and Arun Gopy after their film Ramaleela, which had released in theatres in 2017.
The upcoming movie, which will also have Siddique in a pivotal role, will also have another star playing the antagonist. There were rumours that the makers were in discussions with Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh to play the villain in the film. It’s not yet confirmed if the actor, who had previously worked in Tamil and Telugu, had signed the film.
Udaykrishna in an earlier interview with us had said that the script of the film was completed during the lockdown and the team had delayed shooting to ensure that the big budget film is shot when the theatres are back at operating at full capacity. The movie marks Dileep’s second successive big budget venture after Raffi’s Voice of Satyanathan.
The latter, which had completed its Mumbai schedule last month, is an entertainer that has Joju George, Veena Nandakumar and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles. The movie is expected to be released in multiple languages and there are also rumours that Jagapathi Babu and Prakash Raj would play supporting roles in the movie.
Arun Gopy’s venture, meanwhile, marks his third directorial. His previous movie Irupathiyonnaam Noottaandu had Pranav Mohanlal and Rachel David in lead roles. The movie, however, failed to make a mark at the box office despite the hype of being Pranav’s first all-out entertainer. Dileep is next set to begin work on the desi superhero film Parakkum Pappan, which is directed by Viyaan Vishnu.
