Following The Tashkent Files, Vivek Agnihotri released The Kashmir Files. The movie was based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from their homeland. The impact of the incident is still felt in parts of Kashmir.

The Bengal Files, imagined as The Delhi Files so far, will tell another tale of freedom struggle. The teaser of this movie, released as The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter, saw Mithun Chakraborty (Zakhmi Sipahi) as a rugged old man running in an empty corridor as he recites the Preamble of the Indian Constitution with a burnt tongue. The movie also stars Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, and Darshan Kumaar in pivotal roles.
