Connect Teaser: Nayanthara's horror thriller is expected to send a chill down the spine

The teaser of Nayanthara's upcoming horror thriller Connect was released today on the occasion of Lady Superstar Nayanthara's birthday. The teaser gives a glimpse of Nayanthara character and she is seen interacting with Anupam Kher, who is speculated to be playing a pastor. As Anupam Kher's character instructs her to go inside the room which is pitch dark, we see a child tied to the cot. The child is believed to be that of Nayanthara's character's daughter. We also get a glimpse of Sathyaraj's character as well, who plays Nayanthara's father in the film. The new poster that features Nayanthara, Sathyaraj and Anupam Kher has the tagline, "The devil doesn't leave quietly."

The project Connect was announced last year on the occasion of Nayanthara's birthday. The first-look poster showed Nayanthara's character drawing a cross symbol using 'holy water' in her house. In another poster, child artiste Haniya Nafisa is seen standing in a dark room and peeping out of the window. The cross symbols in the room are seen in reverse .

The film marks the reunion of Nayanthara and director Ashwin Saravanan after their last outing Maya (2015). The neo-noir horror thriller was declared a hit. Connect also marks the comeback of Bollywood actor Anupam Kher in Tamil, who last featured in Kuttrapathirikai (2007).

While the music for the film is by Prithvi Chandrasekhar, who had earlier worked in Boomika, cinematography is by Manikantan Ramachary. Richard Kevin is handling the editing. Connect has been bankrolled by Vignesh Shivan's Rowdy Pictures. This will be the first project of Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara after their wedding.

Vignesh had earlier thanked the film's director after the shoot was wrapped up. He had written on his social media handle, ""Thank U @Ashwin_saravana for an extraordinary horror movie. We know u r good at it but u jus meratified us more than expected kudos to U & ur stunning team Very good performances frm #LadySuperStar #Nayanthara #SathyaRaj sir AnupamPKher & the entire cast #HappyOnam indeed (sic)."
