The Tamil film also clashed with the Hindi movie War 2, but the Rajinikanth-starrer got the better of the Hrithik Roshan-starrer, which only made Rs 52.5 crore. Rajinikanth’s Coolie BO collection day 1

The Tamil film Coolie had a blockbuster opening on August 14, 2025, raking in Rs 65 crore just from India Nett collections, state the figures on the Sacnilk site. As Rajinikanth’s movie had a massive worldwide release, this figure is sure to go up. On day 2, the film has already made Rs 2.32 crore, taking the total to Rs 67.32 crore.

In terms of occupancy, Chennai registered the highest with 97.75 per cent followed by Bengaluru at 89.25 per cent.

Coolie vs War 2

Rajinikanth’s action-packed film clashed with the film Hindi War 2, starring Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan and Telugu star Jr NTR. However, War 2 was not much of a competition as it raked in only Rs 52.5 crore. Though a good opening day collection, Ayan Mukerji-directorial War 2 fell short of Coolie by nearly Rs 13 crore.

War 2 also had a wide release in multiple languages. The film was also much anticipated in the Telugu states as it featured Jr NTR in a negative role, marking his Bollywood debut. War 2 Hindi minted Rs 29 crore, the Telugu version Rs 23.25 crore while the Tamil version was way behind with Rs 0.25 crore, which is not surprising, considering it was clashing with Thalaivar’s Coolie. So far for Day 2, War 2 has only made Rs 0.72 crore, taking the total to Rs 53.22 crore.
