Costao, the crime drama, will focus on the life of customs officer, Costao Fernandes, who killed the Goa CM's brother for smuggling gold. Costao's real name is Antonio Fwaminy da Costa Fernandes. He is an Angolan politician and served as an ambassador to Egypt, India, and the United Kingdom. He gained immense popularity after becoming a Preventive Officer with the Goa Customs in 1979.
He stopped a major gold smuggling scheme in 1991 involving Alvernaz Alemao, the brother of politician Churchill Alemao. The customs officer also received the President's Award in 1996 for his bravery and dedication.
