Costao: Nawazuddin Siddiqui reveals what got him excited about Costao Fernandes; 'He laughs a lot but...'

ZEE5 is bringing a new biopic crime thriller, Costao. Starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead role, the film centers around a customs officer, Costao Fernandes (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui), who fights against a gold smuggling ring in Goa in the 1990s. Ahead of the release, Nawazuddin shared what got him excited about his character, Costao Fernandes.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is all set to portray the role of Costao Fernandes in the biographical film, Costao. During an interview with Mid-Day, the actor revealed what got him excited about Costao. He said, "He laughs a lot, but there’s still something hidden behind his laughter. That was very interesting to explore." The actor mentioned that he was impressed by the officer’s courage and moved by his suffering when standing against a corrupt system.

“The more I am experienced, the more I am scared thinking about acting because there are so many things to be explored. There could be 1,000 ways to perform a scene and the process of finding them is what I feel is interesting," he added.

Costao is a crime thriller film inspired by the real-life story of customs officer Costao Fernandes. He fought against a powerful gold smuggling ring in Goa during the 1990s. The movie stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Costao Fernandes. The story explores themes of duty, betrayal, corruption, and the courage needed to stand up to powerful systems. 

He deals with corruption, betrayal, and a system that goes against him, and it leads him to go on the run while trying to protect his family. The film explores his unconventional methods and pursuit of justice, which highlights his determination to stand up against injustice.
