Costao plot

Costao is a crime thriller drama film that centers around a customs officer, Costao Fernandes (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui). He fights against a powerful gold smuggling ring in Goa in the 1990s. He faces corruption, betrayal, and a system that turns against him, eventually going on the run while trying to protect his family. He tries his best to stop a massive gold smuggling operation led by a powerful criminal gang. He works against the grain, goes against the system, and faces murder charges.

For the unversed, Costao is inspired by a true story that highlights the courage and resilience of Costao Fernandes, a real-life customs officer who challenged a major smuggling ring. It explores themes of duty, betrayal, corruption, and the value of standing up to a powerful system.
