Critics Choice Super Awards: Ram Charan, Jr NTR nominated for Best Actor in an Action Movie along with Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise

Director SS Rajamouli's global hit RRR has bagged three nominations at the Critics Choice Super Awards. The film has been nominated for Best Action Movie with the like of The Bullet Train, Top Gun: Maverick, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent and The Woman King. 

And the film's stars, Jr NTR and Ram Charan have also been nominated for Best Actors in an Action Movie category. The Tollywood stars share the nomination with Nicolas Cage for The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, Tom Cruise for Top Gun: Maverick, and Brad Pitt for Bullet Train. 

And the winners of the Super Awards will be announced on March 16 a few days after the most-awaited 95th edition of the Oscars. India has a lot to cheer for in the upcoming Academy Awards, which is due on March 12. The country has three contestants in top categories, including RRR. The movie has bagged a nomination for the Best Original Song for composer MM Keeravani's global sensation 'Naatu Naatu.' The song has already won a Golden Globe. 

RRR found unrepresented popularity with the audience in the US after the film's Hindi version made its debut on Netflix. The who's who of Hollywood started tweeting about the film creating awareness about it. The film's popularity took off when the craze around it in India subsided with its theatrical run. RRR was later released in cinemas in the US and is still running there. With the Academy Awards closing in, Variance Films, which is running RRR's Oscar campaign has planned to re-release the film in about 200 theatres on March 3.
