Netflix is gearing up for the release of gruesome killings in its latest true crime documentary.  Curry and Cyanide - The Jolly Joseph Case will unveil its truth on December 22.

In the trailer released a few days ago, we get a glimpse of the mysterious cyanide poisonings centered around a simple South Indian woman hailing from Koodathayi. With riveting crime-solving angles and talking heads –This true crime documentary sets to unfold the dark truth of multiple killings revolving around Jolly Joseph.

The crime investigation is supported by archival footage and photographs of the crime scene to bring the reality element to this chilling film.  Curry & Cyanide chronicles the life of an infamous college professor, Jolly Joseph who stirred theories and shook the nation when a simple family-oriented woman was charged with multiple murders with cyanide poisonings. The deaths which were commonly ruled out as heart attacks, bring out the brutality of the murderer while instigating the murder-motive.

Set in Kozhikode’s small-town district, Koodathayi – This documentary also narrates how the townspeople were shaken in stark horror after the truth about the mysterious murders shattered the gender stereotypes. Jolly Joseph’s murder trial also included charges of killing her family members mercilessly.

Directed by Christo Tomy, a recipient of the National Award – Curry and Cyanide is arriving on December 22 on Netflix.
