Filmmaker Venkat Prabhu's latest movie Custody is struggling to make gains at the box office . Starring Naga Chaitanya in the lead role, the cop drama opened to mixed reviews from the critics. And the opening of the movie at the worldwide box office was also not as expected.

Amid the struggles of Custody at the box office, an old tweet by Venkat has come to the fore. In that tweet, he had taken a jibe at Telugu superstar Prabhas' movie Saaho. The tweet dates back to 2019 when the Prabhas's big-budget actioner Saaho was released amid a lot of fanfare. However, the film garnered negative reviews. And Venkat suggested that the critical failure of Saaho was a good thing as it would benefit Sixer, which was also released on the same days as the Prabhas-starrer. "After seeing ALL da online reviews!! It looks like a #sixer weekend in Tamil Nadu!!! My #SAHOdharan @actor_vaibhav ku vaazhthukal!!! (sic)," Venkat tweeted at the time.

Soon after the tweet, Venkat came under a lot of fire from fans of Prabhas. Many called the jibe at the superstar "unwarranted and below the belt." And it seems Prabhas fans have always held it against Venkat.

As Custody garnered poor reviews and is struggling to make a dent at the box office, the old tweet has come back to haunt Venkat. Custory follows the struggles of a low-ranking police officer who takes it upon himself to safely transport a high-profile criminal to a court in Bengaluru. The movie was shot in Tamil and Telugu and it also stars Krithi Shetty, Arvind Swamy, Priyamani, R. Sarathkumar and Sampath Raj.
