Naga Chaitanya, who made his Hindi debut in Laal Singh Chaddha, is awaiting the release of Custody, his first bilingual, shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil, this summer. Written and directed by Venkat Prabhu, the shoot of Custody is nearing completion already. Krithi Shetty plays the female lead in the drama produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi under Srinivasaa Silver Screen.

A catchy dance number from Custody, featuring the lead pair, is currently being shot in Hyderabad’s popular Annapurna Studios. The song is special for it is being shot in seven different sets erected at the studio. The massive sets designed by Rajeevan, the production designer and DY Satyanarayana, the art director, promises to be a eye-pleasing experience on the big screen, the makers assure.

For the first time ever, Ilaiyaraaja and his composer-son Yuvan Shankar Raja are coming together to score music for a film. Sekhar master is choreographing the aforementioned number. SR Kathir’s cinematography is expected to bolster the film on the technical front as well. Arvind Swami plays the antagonist in the drama that also stars Priyamani in a crucial role.

Sarathkumar, Sampath Raj, Premgi Amaren, Vennela Kishore and Premi Vishwanath form the supporting cast of the film. A special glimpse of Custody, multiple posters of the pivotal characters have contributed to the curiosity surrounding its premise. Abburi Ravi pens the dialogue for the Telugu version with Stun Siva, Mahesh Mathew choreographing the action sequences.

Custody is set to hit screens in Telugu and Tamil languages worldwide on May 12. Later this year, Naga Chaitanya will be making his OTT debut with Amazon Prime Video’s horror show Dhootha, directed by Vikram K Kumar. Parvathy, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Prachi Desai and Tharun Bhascker play other pivotal roles in it.
