D55: Sai Pallavi to reunite with Dhanush and Rajkumar Periasamy once again

The cast of D55 is getting bigger. With the makers announcing the team members in the past few days, the latest addition is one of the most guessed ones. While fans were eagerly awaiting the announcement of Sai Pallavi, the makers had earlier announced the casting of Sreeleela. Now on Monday, the producers of D55, confirmed Sai Pallavi joining the cast.
D55: Is Sai Pallavi in the film?
Yes, Sai Pallavi is all set to join the cast of D55, making her second collaboration with Dhanush. Sai Pallavi will be playing one of the female leads in D55, the upcoming Tamil film starring Dhanush. The duo has already shared screen space in Maari. Their dance number Rowdy Baby had gained fame for their chemistry and dance performances.
D55 is directed by filmmaker Rajkumar Periasamy, who will also be making his second time working with Sai Pallavi. The actor, last seen in Thandel, had played Indhu Rebecca Varghese, in Rajkumar directorial Amaran. Sai Pallavi’s portrayal as wife of late Mukund Varadarajan in the film opposite Sivakarthikeyan, had earned her much acclaim. It was also recently Sai Pallavi was conferred with Best Actress, Tamil Nadu State Film Award, for her performance in Gargi.
Sai Pallavi currently is shooting for Ramayan, based on the Hindu epic, in which she plays Sita, opposite Ranbir Kapoor’s Ram. Yash plays Raavan.

D55 also stars Sreeleela as one of the female leads. It will be the first time the Parasakthi actor will be sharing screen space with Dhanush. Sai Abhyankkar will be scoring music for the film. There are also reports that state that Malayalam actor Mammootty will also be part of the cast, and will join the project after he completes Adoor Gopalakrishna’s Padayathra. Mammootty’s casting has not yet been officially announced. With a release date yet to be announced, D55 is co-produced by Dhanush’s home banner Wunderbar Films.
