Kannada filmmaker Hemanth M Rao has officially announced his next directorial – 666 Operation Dream Theatre, which will have Daali Dhananjaya in the lead and Kannada cinema’s Century Star Shivarajkumar in a pivotal role. There were rumours of an official muhurtha on June 20, but the team decided to announce it a tad earlier, to celebrate 40 years of Shivarajkumar’s cinematic journey.
“Presenting my next directorial '666 Operation Dream Theatre' with the incredible @NimmaShivanna and @Dhananjayaka. Shoot starts soon! Excited!!” Hemanth shared on social media along with an animated title teaser, according to which it seems that the filmmaker is set to present a spy thriller, a homage of sorts to Dr Rajkumar’s CID 999 series’ Operation Diamond Racket.
Earlier in the day, though, the buzz was that the film’s title is Operation Diamond Theatre and that the plot revolves around Dhananjaya, as an NRI, who returns home, where he takes on the responsibility of saving a local theatre. Shivarajkumar will fill in as a guide and mentor to Dhananjaya’s character – that is what one heard.
When we tried reaching Dhananjaya for confirmation, all that the actor said was that this film will be full of surprises. Meanwhile, netizens are going ga-ga over Hemanth’s choice of title and how he never fails in coming up with intriguing and unique ones for his films. Given that Shivarajkumar and Dhananjaya already have a good track record with Tagaru, fan expectation is that this combination of Hemanth, and the two actors will set the screen on fire.
Dhananjaya is currently shooting for Anna From Mexico and is expected to join 666 Operation Dream Theatre thereafter. The actor will sport a different look in the film, which will be revealed in due course of time. Shivarajkumar, meanwhile, has director Kartik Adwait’s untiled #Shivanna131, as well as an extensive role in Ram Charan’s next, Telugu. He has also been confirmed to reprise his role as Narasimha in Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2.
