When KRG Studios announced its second production venture, yet again with Daali Dhananjaya in the lead, after their first collaboration, Rathnan Prapancha, the announcement came with a proposed release date. The film, Hoysala, which has the tagline, Rakṣhasara Rakṣhasa Arakṣhaka, was to be in theatres on November 1 (or the nearest Friday), on the occasion of Karnataka Rajyotsava 2022. Officially launched in April this year, Hoysala, directed by Vijay N, has Dhananjaya playing a police officer, in a story set in Belagavi. The actor is paired with Amrutha Iyengar in the film.

When it became clear that Hoysala could not meet its proposed date with audiences, the team had announced that it was being pushed ahead, but did not say when. Today, they revealed that Hoysala will be a 2023 presentation. Dhananjaya’s film will hit theatres son March 30, 2023. The film, which is Dhananjaya’s milestone 25th as an actor, has music by popular Tollywood composer S Thaman. The actor, who was last seen in a cop role in Duniya Vijay’s directorial debut Salaga, is currently busy with the promotions of three of his films.

Next week, the actor has Monsoon Raaga, the Ravindranath S directorial, in which he is paired with Rachita Ram. The film is the Kannada remake of the Telugu hit, C/O Kancharapalem and has Achyuth Kumar, Suhasini Maniratnam and Yasha Shivakumar on the cast. After that, Dhananjaya will jump headlong into the promotions of his second home production, Head Bush, which is a three-part biopic on the life of Bengaluru’s first gangster, MP Jayaraj. The first part of the film, in which Dhananjaya plays Jayaraj, will be in theatres on October 21. The actor will be seen in Thotapuri too, on September 30, but that’s essentially a Jaggesh vehicle in which Dhananjaya has a pivotal role.
