Dadagiri 10: Is low TRP the reason behind the early closure of Sourav Ganguly’s reality show? Director Avijit Sen clarifies

Zee Bangla reality show Dadagiri 10 came to an end with its 62nd episode on Sunday, May 5. Many of the fans and television officials were under the impression that the show, which is presented by Sourav Ganguly, would end after the completion of the ongoing IPL. However, the show’s grand finale took place on Sunday with Dona Ganguly and Sukhwinder Singh’s performance.

In fact, some of the insiders argued that the real reason behind the sudden end of the show lies in its lack of TRP. According to media reports, the low TRP for weeks is the reason. This week, Dadagiri managed just a 4.3 rating. On the other hand, the director of the show, Avijit Sen, has a very different opinion about the show. In an interview with Hindustan Times Bangla, Avijit said, “The perception value of Dadagiri is very high. It is one of the most respected shows in Bengal. Bengalis across the world love this show. It is not just entertainment. It is also informative. It has a viewership of the age group between eight and 80. People from different walks of life participate here.”

Avijit further added that like every year, the TRP went down and there is nothing unusual there. “The TRP was high in the beginning. However, Bengalis are crazy about football and cricket. We have been the slot leader (with the highest TRP in that time slot). Kolkata has given a very good TRP rating. We are very happy,” he said.
