Sai Dhanshika, the actress who shot to fame with films like Kabali, Paradesi and Solo, to name a few, made her Telugu debut this year with Shikaaru, streaming on aha. She's gearing up for her second Telugu release Dakshina now. Rishab Basu, Subash, Aananda Bharathi play pivotal roles as well in Dakshina, touted to be an action thriller. The film is bankrolled by Ashok Shinde under Cult Concepts.
The director Osho Tulasiram is best remembered for Mantra, the horror-thriller starring Charmme that released more than a decade ago. Today, commemorating Sai Dhanshika's birthday, a special motion poster of Dakshina was released by the team. In the motion poster, Dhanshika sports a white top and denims standing by the beachside and is in an intense avatar in what appears to be a crucial sequence from the film.
The actress plays a fiery officer in the project and looks apt for the part. The producer expressed his happiness about how the film was shaping up, in a chat with the media. Osho Tulasiram and Dhanshika are putting their best foot forward for Dakshina, he said. "While she is recognised for Kabali now, Dakshina is certain to become another reference point in her career. Bengali actor Rishab Basu will be seen in a crucial role in the psycho-thriller."
Three-fourths of Dakshina's shoot is complete and the movie is being made in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously. The thriller is currently being filmed in Goa and Hyderabad. With cinematography by Narsingh, the film has music by Balaji.
