Even after the popularity of Mahaguru in Dance Dance junior, Mithun Chakraborty gave season three a miss. The Star Jalsha Reality show is now judged by Rukmini Maitra, along with Monami Ghosh and Dev. However, there is good news awaiting Mithun Chakraborty’s fans. The actor is returning to Bengali television after a long hiatus. He will appear on the stage of the popular dance reality show in Zee Bangla, Dance Bangla Dance.

Mithun said it is his coming back home. The actor was involved with the show from the beginning when it started in 2007. Competitors waited the entire week to hear his immensely popular dialogue: ‘Kya Bat Kya Bat’. He appeared at the seat of Mahaguru for the last time in 2013. The veteran actor then appeared in another dance reality show, Dance Dance Junior in Star Jalsa.

Meanwhile, Zee Bangla’s business head Nabanita Chakraborty said that Mithun is returning for the love and affection of the audience, who wanted him in the role of Mahaguru. The audition will start at Darjeeling on November 11. Then the channel will gradually search for talented dancers all over the state.

But how did Mithun return? The show director Abhijit Sen can take credit for that. Recently Mithun has worked in Abhijit's film Projapoti. This paved the way for a new line of communication with Mithun. Abhijit told Anandabazar that he expressed his wish to bring Mithun back on the stage, and Mithun also expressed his interest. An overjoyed Mithun said, “Dance Bangla Dance is my home, my baby. I want to return given a scope.”

People from all age groups can audition for the show. Then the final format will be decided. The show will be telecast in January or February of 2023.
