Danish Sait is back as corrupt politician Nograj, as Humble Politiciann Nograj is set to drop on Voot Select

If you weren’t aware of Bengaluru-based actor-comedian Danish Sait earlier, he made sure everyone took note of him during the lockdown with his short and supremely funny takes on everyday issues/news as presented through various avatars. Bevarsi Kudka, for instance, became quite the star, as did most of his other characters.

One of Danish’s earliest avatars, though, was Nograj, a corrupt Bengaluru politician with no moral code, whose English will crack you up. Danish first introduced Nograj to people during the IPL, when he accompanied the Royal Challengers Bangalore for BTS videos. His big break came when Nograj became the hero of a fun feature film, Humble Politiciann Nograj.

Since then, Danish has given his other characters, Asgar (French Biriyani) and Gopi (upcoming film One Cut Two Cut) cinematic outings. But there is no denying that Nograj remains a crowd favourite, which is probably why he returns with the character. Only this time, it’s not a film, but a 10-part Kannada web series, which will premiere on Voot Select shortly.

Releasing the teaser of the series with a promise that Nograj is ‘caming’ soon, Danish and director Saad Khan announced that Humble Politiciann Nograj would stream on Voot Select starting January 6, 2022. The 10-part series will also star Prakash Belawadi, Vijay Chendoor and Disha Madan in pivotal roles. It remains to be seen if comedienne Sumukhi Suresh, who played Nograj’s wife in the film, will return for the series. The makers promise that the series will be a satirical take on several socio-economic and political issues that will strike a chord with audiences.
