The "Devil of Hell’s Kitchen" has officially returned to Indian screens. Today, on JioHotstar, Marvel Television's Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 debuted, following months of prominent marketing and a successful first season.
Now streaming in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, the first episode of the series "The Northern Star" is available to watch on a weekly basis. Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and his journey through a New York City transformed into a police state are picked up right where the spectacular Season 1 finale left off in Season 2. New York City Mayor Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio), who is now in his fourth term, has used his "Safer Streets Initiative" to criminalise vigilantism.
The debut episode quickly establishes the stage. There is an intense hunt on for unsung heroes by Fisk's militarised Anti-Vigilante Task Force (AVTF) of the New York Police Department. Moving his operations underground, Murdock is still grieving over the loss of his best friend Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) from the previous season and has lost his legal standing. Following his revived romance with Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page, he is now spearheading a "resistance" movement alongside her.
A concentration on "revolutionary action" takes centre stage in Season 2, contrasting with Season 1's emphasis on the city's spiritual struggle. The show stays true to its TV-MA rating by bringing back the violent, realistic fighting style that made the character popular on Netflix.
Jon Bernthal is back as Frank Castle, aka The Punisher. Despite being taken by Fisk's troops at the end of last season, Castle continues to play a crucial role in Murdock's goal, and his destiny is integral to it. Season 1 ushers in the live-action debut of Hunter Doohan's sadistic "artist" Muse, who adorns city murals with blood and corpses. The conflict between Daredevil and Kingpin becomes more complicated with his addition of a psychological terror factor. As the main enforcer for Fisk and a man with his grudges, Benjamin Poindexter (Wilson Bethel) makes a triumphant return as a broken but deadly danger in Bullseye.
There will be eight episodes in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. New episodes will be released every Wednesday at 6:30 AM IST after today's launch, in line with the global rollout. After this release schedule wraps up on May 13, 2026, there will be a special presentation that delves into The Punisher's past within the MCU.
Early social media replies from Indian viewers, who have been largely positive, have praised the "no-nonsense" tone and chemistry between Cox and Woll. Season 3 of Born Again is now in production and is set to premiere in 2027, further solidifying its position as the MCU's flagship series for ground-level storytelling.
