Director Shashank Soghal's debut feature attempts to bring one of ace author Poornachandra Tejaswi's most endearing stories, Daredevil Musthafa. The upcoming film of the same name is a unique venture which boasts not one but more than 60 producers with each of them being an ardent fan of the late Poornachandra Tejaswi.

The crowd-funded feature, which has been in the works for quite some time, will finally get its much-deserved theatrical release and the team took to social media recently to share the exciting news. Daredevil Musthafa, the film, will arrive in cinema halls on May 19, 2023.

Having first encountered the Daredevil Musthafa short story in an audio format, Shashank Soghal was extrapolate the heart of the story into a feature-length screenplay. However, owing to the unique period setting of the film, he was unable to find buyers which compelled him to take the crowd-funding route. What began as a pitch on Facebook soon attracted the admirers of Tejaswi and Shashank was able to source all the funds through the model.

The film version employs several vibrant characters with Jamal Abdul Musthafa Hussain, the titular character, being the most important one. Theatre actor Shishir Baikady plays the part on screen with Aditya Ashree, Abhay, Supreeth Bharadwaj, Aashith, Srivatsa, Prerana and several other young actors as part of the enterprising cast.

Reportedly, Daredevil Musthafa was shot extensively in Mysuru's Hardwicke College, where Poornachandra Tejaswi's father and Rashtrakavi Kuvempu studied.

Not very long ago, popular actor Daali Dhananjaya joined the young team as a presenter and his involvement can surely be expected to boost the theatrical run of the film. A fellow Tejaswi fan, Dhananjaya is said to have come on board after watching the showreel of the film. Karthik Gowda and Yogi G. Raj's KRG Studios will be distributing the film.
