Darling Krishna’s much-awaited Love Mocktail 2 trailer to release at 4 pm on February 1

Two years ago, Kannada actor Darling Krishna made his directorial debut with Love Mocktail, a love story that struck a chord with audiences and was well appreciated. However, soon enough, the pandemic struck and the whole world shut down, following which the film, which also starred Rachana Inder, Amrutha Iyengar and Milana Nagaraj, headed to OTT.

The romantic drama, which Krishna produced with his now wife Milana, followed the story of Adi, a middle-aged software professional, as he narrates the story of the three girls/women in his life, Reema, Jo and Nidhi. While Reema is his school-days crush, Jo was his love during his engineering days, while he meets fellow software engineer Nidhi later and eventually even gets married to her. Sadly, though, the film has a tragic ending, with Nidhi succumbing to cancer.

Despite the sad ending, shortly after Love Mocktail released, Krishna said that he was planning a sequel and had been writing during the lockdown, while shooting began once relaxations came in. Krishna, whose fortunes as an actor rose after Love Mocktail, was subsequently swamped with acting offers, so much so that shooting the sequel to his directorial had to be reserved for weekends and other holidays. The film has been ready for a while, with Krishna and Milana zeroing in on February 11, 2022 as its release date.

A few days ago, Krishna and Milana had teased that the trailer of Love Mocktail 2 would be out soon, and earlier today, they announced that it’s dropping on February 1, at 4 pm. In a live social media interaction, the couple, who’ve produced the sequel as well, said that they were hopeful of sticking to the February 11 release plan, as they’d heard whispers in industry circles that theatres will be allowed to operate at 100% occupancy in a week’s time. “99% we will release Love Mocktail 2 on February 11 if theatres are open at 100%,” said Krishna, adding that the sequel is a film that audiences would have to try and watch as early as possible, as spoilers about the subject are likely to be out soon enough.

Love Mocktail 2 will have Rachel David onboard, while Milana and Amrutha are also on the cast. Raghu Dixit, who had composed the hit numbers of the original, makes way for Nakul Abhyankar this time around.
