After the runaway success of his directorial debut, Love Mocktail, actor-filmmaker Darling Krishna has been besieged with film offers, many of which he took up. Immediately after Love Mocktail, Krishna was committed to at least eight other projects, most of which are either complete or in different stages of production. He also managed to write, direct and release the sequel of Love Mocktail, Love Mocktail 2 earlier this year.

Among the many projects that Krishna had taken up, one is the Kannada remake of the Tamil hit Oh My Kadavule, directed by Nagendra Prasad, the younger brother of choreographer-actor-filmmaker Prabhudheva. The film has been in the news for multiple reasons, but primarily because it features the late Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar in a pivotal role. In the original, Vijay Sethupathi plays ‘god’ and that’s the role that Puneeth has done in the Kannada remake. Nagendra has also included an energetic dance number featuring Puneeth and his brother Prabhudheva, which is something that fans are looking forward to. The makers of the film had said that given that most of Puneeth’s scenes in the film were shot in indoor locations, they have been able to retain his voice in the final print.

Way back in March, on the occasion of Puneeth’s birthday, KRG Connects, which is distributing Lucky Man, had announced that the film would release soon and it was rumoured to be in theatres in May. However, that did not pan out and Krishna said that the team had reconsidered it, as it’s OTT release would then coincide with that of KGF: Chapter 2, a clash they did not want. Today, on the occasion of leading man Darling Krishna’s birthday, the team announced that Lucky Man would be in theatres in August. The exact date has not been specified, but in all likelihood, it will avoid the first two weeks, as films like Raghavendra Stores, Gaalipata 2 and Monsoon Raaga are already lined up for release.
