Alia Bhatt’s Darlings, which recently started streaming on Netflix, has received largely positive reviews from fans and critics, despite some fans calling for a boycott. The actor, who also turned producer with the project, has now revealed that Shah Rukh Khan and his family loved the film.

Talking to Bollywood Bubble, Alia revealed that co-producer Shah Rukh Khan loved the movie and also praised the movie in true Darlings style by saying, ““'Thanks yours fors suchs lovelys films.”

Alia also said that Shah Rukh’s daughter Suhana Khan, who is set to make her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, loved the movie so much that she watched it a second time. She further said that the entire Shah Rukh family loved the black comedy.

While the movie marks Alia’s production debut under the banner of Eternal Sunshine Productions, Shah Rukh has also co-produced the movie under his banner, Red Chillies Entertainment. Alia had previously talked about how Shah Rukh got on call with her and decided to co-produce the movie.

“Darlings makes it obvious with its theme of how not to suffer from domestic violence with an underlying tone of dark comedy. The Alia Bhatt-starrer film soars high on intent, but the performances show that the scope could have been slightly better,” read the movie’s review on OTTplay.

Apart from Alia Bhatt in the lead, the movie also stars Shefali Shah, Roshan Mathew and Vijay Varma in important roles. The movie revolves around a wife who is searching for her missing husband and how slowly the truth is revealed.

The movie, which marks the directorial debut of Jasmeet K. Reen, is now available to stream on Netflix.
