Darlings trailer: Alia Bhatt is looking for her missing husband with Shefali Shah, but they know exactly where to find him

Darlings led by Alia Bhatt is a project moviegoers are eagerly waiting for and its makers have now released the movie's official trailer. The trailer hints at a film that will have a lot of comedy and will keep you hooked.

The trailer starts off with Vijay Varma’s Hamza talking about how much he loves his wife and then we see Alia Bhatt’s Badru learning that her husband has still not returned from work. She takes to the police station with Shefali Shah and then we see the duo trying to find out where the husband has gone.

And just like that, the trailer takes a sharp turn, and we realise that the husband is still at home and is being kept captive by the wife played by Alia. Shefali Shah and Roshan Mathew are also into this nefarious plan and we understand that Varma could be an abusive husband. “Enough defense, mom. It’s time for offense now”, Alia says, before she smacks her tied up husband across the head with a pan.

The trailer promises a black comedy that could have the audience in stitches, while also having some thriller and drama elements to it. Alia looks right in place playing the captive wife and it looks like Shefali Shah’s character will also be very interesting to see.

“Badru, a strong-minded woman and her mother, decide to take matters in her own hands when it comes to Badru's husband Hamza. What follows next is a hilarious comedy jo thodi dark hain!,” read the movie’s synopsis that came with the trailer.

Marking the feature film debut of director Jasmeet K Reen, the movie is produced by Gauri Khan, Alia Bhatt and Gaurav Verma. Darlings is set to start streaming on Netflix on August 5.
