Darshana Banik gets a nod from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's production house for her Heeramandi dance

Darshana Banik is on cloud nine. The actress who recently got married to Saurav Das, has been working in the Bengali film industry for a while. She is busy with her work and her family. 

Now she shared some good news. She was noted by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Recently, Darshana shared a reel video of Heeramandi’s hit song Najariya Ki Mari. 

Darshana danced to the song wearing a red velvet lehenga. She perfectly coordinated with Madhubanti Bagchi’s melodious voice. That reel was shared by Bhansali Production and Netflix India on their Instagram Handle. Sanjeeda Sheikh, who plays Waheeda in the series, praised Darshana. 

Darshana is evidently elated. She said, “I had a photoshoot. The set was so beautiful that I wished to make a reel with this song. I dance throughout the day and many people ask me why so much. But I like it. After I posted this, everyone praised me. Sanjeeda Sheikh shared the reel on Instagram. I did not tag any of them. I feel great.” 

Darshana is a trained dancer. She has learned Kathak since childhood. She still takes training. Also, Darshana has a ‘Kismet Connection’ with Heeramandi’s song. The actress takes dance training under the Mumbai choreographer Nidhi Prabhu, who choreographed this song. 

Darshana said, “My dance teacher choreographed this song in Heeramandi. I saw the video a few times and then tried it.” 

Darshana already watched the series. “This is Bhansali’s own genre. I was excited about Heeramandi. I was stunned to see Sudeep da’s cinematography. It felt a bit slow in the middle. But overall it is very good,” she said.  

Saurav is also amazed at Darshana’s dance. Darshana said, “Saurav praised a lot. But his mother is happier. She always wants us to do a lot of work. She is excited to see the video.”
