If there was any doubt whether Vineeth Sreenivasan has mastered the pulse of the audience, then the latest track from his upcoming directorial Hridayam should clear those. The magical track, which is composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab, is an energy booster and revolves around its two leads – Pranav Mohanlal and Darshana Rajendran.

As promised, Vineeth released the track through his and multiple others’ social media pages the day the theatres reopened in Kerala, fully committing to his pledge of releasing the much-awaited coming-of-age tale in theatres soon.

The track Darshana revolves around the college years of the lead character Arun, played by Pranav. Written by Arun Alatt, the song is high on energy and freshness quotient. Featuring vocals by Hesham and Darshana, the visuals of the track begin with Pranav's character geaten beaten up by his college mates while he laughs it off and admits that Darshana is his. The viewers also get to see a few scenes of romance bloom between Pranav's Arun and Darshana in the college corridors as he says he doesn't want to waste time and says he is "crazy" about her.

The video also shows a different side of Pranav as he grooves to the catchy song that has Turkish orchestra with Selim Boyaci, Onur Cicin, Cem Ekmen and Adem Tosunoglu performing the instruments. The track is one among the 15 tracks in the movie, which has songs rendered by artistes including KS Chithra, Arvind Venugopal, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Darshana Rajendran, Unni Menon and Sachin Warrier.

In a behind the scenes video that the team had unveiled a day before the song’s release, Vineeth said, “We crossed all barriers and collaborated with people who had nothing to do with our music. This is a track in which a lot of magic has happened.”

The team also announced the release date of the movie, which was shot in Kerala and Chennai the past year. Hridayam will release in January 2022. Hridayam, along with Kurup and Aaraattu, are among the hugely anticipated theatrical releases. Incidentally, the release of the track today also coincided with another happy occasion for Vineeth and team as his buddy and producer Noble Babu Thomas and Helen director Mathukutty Xavier collected their National Film Awards earlier in the day.
