Challenging Star Darshan is currently in the line of fire from multiple parties. And this time, the actor is to blame for whatever is coming his way. In the last few days, the Kannada superstar has used unsavoury language at multiple public events and dug a hole for himself. Shortly after the Karnataka Prajakara Vedike filed a complaint against the actor for the use of certain words in what were meant to be taunts against producer Umapathy Srinivas Gowda, a women’s organization has also decided to chime in with objection to his statements pertaining to his wife Vijayalakshmi and alleged current girlfriend, Pavitra Gowda.

At a celebratory event for the actor’s 25 years in cinema, he addressed the online feud between Vijayalashmi and Pavitra, saying, “Ivathu ivalu iruthala, naale avalu iruthala’… Avala ajjina badiya (sic)”, which has now put him in the cross hairs of a women’s rights organization. A complaint has been filed in the Karnataka State Commission for Women, stating that the actor’s derogatory words hurt the sentiments of women. The complaint urges Darshan to apologize for the same, while also working towards changing his perception of women. The actor, says the complaint, should not have used such language on a public platform.

The actor’s comments came at a time when he said that all that he cares for are his work, the people who collaborate with him, including directors, producers, etc., and his fans. In this context, he said that the ‘tension’ between the women in his life does not affect him.

This is the second complaint filed against Darshan in the last few days, the basis of both being the actor’s public statements. This is not the first time the actor has run into trouble for being a bit of a motor-mouth and not filtering his words. During the promotions of Kranti he had said, “Goddess of Luck doesn't knock on the door always. When she knocks, grab her, drag her into your bedroom and strip her naked. If you give her clothes, she will go out."

A viral audio clip of the actor using abusive language against the media had resulted in mainstream publications banning him for a considerable amount of time, with a peace brokered only recently during the promotions of Kaatera at the behest of producer Rockline Venkatesh. The actor’s statement, of course, has been fodder for rival fan groups to go to town besmirching him.
