Nani, who was busy promoting Ante Sundaraniki extensively in the early half of June, is back on set to shoot for his upcoming action entertainer Dasara. Budgeted over Rs 60 crore, Dasara is touted to be the most expensive film in Nani’s career. The actioner, which has him paired opposite his Nenu Local co-star Keerthy Suresh, is directed by first-time filmmaker Srikanth Odela.

The new schedule of Dasara is expected to go on for a long time and the entire lead cast is expected to participate in it. A huge, expensive set (costing the team many crores) was erected in Hyderabad for the shoot. Nani will be seen in an out-and-out massy avatar, donning a rugged, bearded look in Dasara, in which speaks the Telangana slang.

While sharing a new poster from the film announcing the new schedule, team Dasara added on social media, “A crucial schedule begins for #Dasara. More updates Soon!” In the poster, Nani is at his casual best wearing a lungi and standing atop a rock, while smoking a cigarette. The actor’s transition from his boy-next-door look to a fiery, hot-blooded man avatar, deserves praise.

The previous schedule had the team canning a huge action episode under the supervision of stunt director Anbariv. A song featuring Nani and Keerthy Suresh, choreographed by Naatu Naatu-fame Prem Rakshit was filmed with 500 dancers. Samuthirakani, Sai Kumar too play key roles in the film produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas.

The story of Dasara is set amidst a village in the vicinity of Singareni coal Mines in Godavarikhani (Telangana) in Peddapalli district. Much like Nani’s recent films Shyam Singha Roy and Ante Sundaraniki, Dasara will also be hitting theatres in multiple languages across the globe (including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi).

Santhosh Narayanan has scored the music for the film which has cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan. Navin Nooli edits the film while Avinash Kolla is the production designer. Vijay Chaganti is the executive producer.
