Dasara: Not Nani but this star hero was the first choice for the male lead
Dasara has opened to solid occupancy at the box office. The day two numbers are also huge and director Srikanth Vodela is being hailed as the next big thing in Telugu cinema. The way he has made this film has become a talking point. For a first timer, Srikanth has done a magnificent job, say the critics and audience alike.
Not many know that Srikanth Odela had assisted star director Sukumar in Rangasthalam. That is the reason, he has got a hold on emotions and rustic scenes so strongly. Things have not been easy for Srikanth as he had the script of Dasara with him for a long time. He had approached multiple heroes for this film in the last four years or so.

One of them whom Srikanth approached was Vijay Devarakonda. As the star hero is also from Telangana, Srikanth was quite keen on having Vijay on board. He even narrated the story to Vijay but things did not materialize and then a few months later, Srikanth approached Nani and the rest is history.
The way Nani has approached the role, backed the film and took it deep into the audience is there for us to see. It is only because of Nani that the film has come out like the way it did. Srikanth is not that talkative but the manner in which he narrated the revenge drama has impressed one and all. Dasara has taken Nani's star status to another level altogether.
