Dashavatar: Marathi's highest grosser of 2025 gets a theatrical release date in Kerala

Dashavatar, the highest-grossing Marathi film of 2025, will soon be shown on Kerala's big screens. In November, the thriller will be released in Malayalam. Notably, this is also the first time a Marathi movie is premiering in the state.

Dashavatar release date, plot and other details

The movie will release in theatres on November 21. As of right now, no other Malayalam films are scheduled to open on the big screen on the same day. After its debut in Kerala, Dashavatar is anticipated to receive more plaudits. National Award winner Dilip Prabhavalkar plays Babuli Mestri in the film, which is directed by Subodh Khanolkar. 

The film's supporting cast includes Bharat Jadhav, Siddharth Menon, Mahesh Manjrekar and Priyadarshini Indalkar. The film explores sacrifice, faith, and the fight to preserve legacy by following an old Dashavatāra singer's life whose final act transforms into a mystical experience blending reality with legend. ZEE5 has bagged its OTT right following theatrical run. It is also expected to stream on the platform as well as OTTplay Premium soon.

On September 12, the movie opened in theatres in Maharashtra. It made over ₹28 crore at the box office and was well appreciated by reviewers as well as cinephiles. Veteran actor Dilip Prabhavalkar is known for performing as Mahatma Gandhi in the Sanjay Dutt-starrer Lage Raho Munna Bhai. In 2006, this earned him the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Malayalam theatrical releases in November

Similar to October, several Malayalam films are set to be released in theatres in the upcoming month. On November 7, two films will be released - Althaf Salim's Innocent and Roshan Mathew's Ithiri Neram. Lukman Avaran plays a pivotal role in the romantic comedy Athibheekara Kaamukan, which opens in theatres on November 14. In the upcoming month, Nikhila Vimal's film Pennu Case will also be released on the big screen. 

Mammootty's eagerly awaited film Kalamkaval will debut globally on November 27. The same month is anticipated to see the release of Mathew Thomas' Sukhamano Sukhamaanu, Sandeep Pradeep's Eko, and Krishand's directorial, Masthishka Maranam (A Frankenbiting of Simon's Memories).
