Netflix and Jio Cinema announced Dasvi's trailer release date along with a new poster featuring lead actor Abhishek Bachchan.

In the poster, Bachchan wears a turban, sunglasses and sits on an elaborate velvet throne of a chair.

Newcomer director Tushar Jalota has helmed Dasvi from a script penned by Ritesh Shah, who is known for Pink and Batla House

While Bachchan plays Gangaram Chaudhary, the film also stars Nimrat Kaur as Bimla Devi Choudhary (aka Bimmo) and Yami Gautam as Jyoti Deswal, a Haryanvi IPS officer.

From the looks of the first motion poster that was shared on March 14, the film will see Bachchan's character take the 10th class board exams from prison. "Right to education," read a text on the side of that poster.

Bachchan's father Amitabh had also been appreciative of the film's first look, according to Pinkvilla. The actor's sister Shweta Nanda and niece Navya had also shared their excitement for the film on social media.

Dasvi is produced by Dinesh Vijan, Sandeep Leyzell and Shobhana Yadav and presented by Jio Studios and Vijan's Maddock Films.

The trailer for Dasvi will be out on March 23. Here is the announcement:

Dasvi comes from the makers of Bala, Hindi Medium and Angrezi Medium. All these films have had socially-relevant themes and have worked well critically and commercially.

The film will begin streaming on Netflix and Jio Cinema from April 7.
