The trailer for Abhishek Bachchan's social comedy Dasvi was released today.

Bachchan plays an egoistical and stubborn politician Gangaram Chaudhary, who is sent to judicial custody after being involved in a teacher recruitment scam.

Education is something he has been taking lightly all his life. But not until he meets with Yami Gautam's Jyoti Deswal who makes him feel little for only having studied till Class 8.

He then takes up the challenge of earning his high school diploma, while also handing over the Chief Minister duties to his wife Bimmo (Nimrat Kaur).

The trailer offers a humourous and innovative tale where education is the primary theme. Dasvi's story has been conceptualised by Ram Bajpai, and the script is written by Ritesh Shah, Suresh Nair, Sandeep Leyzell.

Dasvi is directed by newcomer Tushar Jalota, who, in a statement said: "Ever since we conceived Dasvi, it was clear we have a unique film in hand, one that tickles people’s funny bones and makes them realise there is magic in knowledge. I can’t wait for audiences to witness this special tale."

Manu Rishi Chadha, Arun Kushwaha, Shivankit Singh Parihar, and Sumit Shekhar Rai are also part of the cast.

The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan (Maddock Films) and Bake My Cake Films. It will begin streaming on Netflix and Jio Cinema from April 7.
