Sai Tamhankar's 2018 Marathi web series, Date With Saie, has been turned into a 2-hour-10-minute movie, which is now streaming on ZEE5 (also accessible via OTTplay Premium) from December 19. Sai plays herself in the Marathi thriller where she's a popular actress, having crazy fan followings. But this huge fame swallows her peaceful life and throws her into the dark world of blackmail and threats. Actor Rohit Kokate appears as the antagonist, Raghunath/Himanshu, in Date With Saie: The Movie.

What's all about Date With Saie: The Movie?

The story follows Raghunath, a local man, who dreams of making a movie. He's obsessed with the the popular Marathi actress Saie Tamhankar and follows everything she does. To get close to her, he creates a fake identity named Himanshu, pretending to be a wealthy bank chairman from Singapore. He manages to meet Sai and takes her on multiple dates. While Saie thinks she is just getting to know a nice man, Raghunath is secretly filming every moment they spend together without her knowing.

His goal is to use all these private footage to create a real-life movie starring Saie, which she's absolutely unaware of. Initially Raghunath pretends that he, as Himanshu, has fallen in love with her, but his behaviour towards Saie quickly turns into obsession. He begins to lose track of what is real and what is just a cinema, crossing dangerous lines to finish his project. As the boundaries between his fake life and reality disappear, the situation becomes a dark and risky game that puts Saie's life in great danger.
