Here is what David Harbour has to say about playing Santa Claus in the upcoming Violent Night film from Universal Pictures.
Have you ever thought about what it would be like to see Santa Claus perform? This year, Christmas has already begun because Santa is heading to town with a huge sack full of goodies for everyone on the "nice" list, a determination to battle everyone on the "naughty" list, and a ton of awesomeness. Violent Night, the next movie from Universal Pictures, released by Warner Bros. and Discovery, is going to introduce this interpretation of Santa Claus to theatres near you. The movie, which is directed by Tommy Wirkola and stars David Harbour, John Leguizamo, Cam Gigandet, Alex Hassell, Alexis Louder, Edi Patterson, and Beverly D'Angelo, features them in important roles.
In the movie Violent Night, which was made by Kelly McCormick, David Leitch, and Guy Danella, a group of mercenaries holds everyone inside a wealthy family's compound prisoner after breaking in on Christmas Eve. Santa Claus, played by David Harbour of Stranger Things and Black Widow, comes as a surprise to the team, but they are not ready for him. He is lying on the ground with a sack full of gifts, and he is about to demonstrate why Santa Claus isn't a saint!
Harbour is excited about the chance to work with Leitch, McCormick, and the rest of the 87North crew. The actor stated that one of the things he likes so much about these worlds Leitch creates, from Atomic Blonde to John Wick to Nobody, is that he takes a somewhat ordinary person, at least on the surface, and allows them to become these crazy action heroes.
The actor was very interested in this project because it was in a genre he had already mastered but felt new. Harbour continued by discussing his Santa costume, explaining that the suit he's wearing in this movie isn't a classic Santa suit. They found a good balance between what they think is a typical outfit for Big Red Jolly and pieces from his long-ago past, like the leather harness and boots.
Violent Night, a movie that was made by Kelly McCormick, David Leitch, and Guy Danella, will come out on December 2.
