Friends actor, David ‘Ross’ Schwimmer posted a heartrending tribute to his co-star cum close pal Matthew Perry, earlier today. Perry had unexpectedly passed away on October 28, by drowning in his bathtub at his Pacific Palisades residence. He was discovered later by his assistant, and his cause of death is still unknown, pending toxicology reports.
Schwimmer wrote, “Thank you for ten incredible years of laughter and creativity. I will never forget your impeccable comic timing and delivery. You could take a straight line of dialogue and bend it to your will, resulting in something so entirely original and unexpectedly funny it still astonishes.”
He further added, “And you had heart. Which you were generous with, and shared with us, so we could create a family out of six strangers.” The photo he posted alongside, he clarified, was chosen as it was one of Schwimmer’s favorite moments with Matthew Perry, when they were dressed in their Miami Vice-inspired college outfits, in a particular Thanksgiving flashback episode.
The photo now only “makes him [me] smile and grieve at the same time.” He ended the post, by penning, “I imagine you up there, somewhere, in the same white suit, hands in your pocket, looking around- “Could there BE any more clouds?””

Schwimmer’s post was after Courtney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, and Jennifer Aniston opened up on their social media and shared their grief. The group, including actress Lisa Kudrow, had previously said in their statement regarding Perry’s death, “We are so utterly devasted by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just castmates. We are a family.”
“There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.” They ended their statement by expressing their love and thoughts for Matthew Perry family, friends, fans, and all those who adore him.
