The free virtual comic book convention came into existence last year when physical comic cons had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Comic book geeks are in for a wild ride come October, as this year’s DC Fandome lineup will feature unexplored glimpses into a string of the most anticipated superhero films. The upcoming free virtual event can be live-streamed on October 16 on its official website as well as on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
According to Screen Rant, the convention will grace fans with a host of content from over seven movies and 19 TV shows. Some of the exciting material include a new The Batman trailer, BTS peeks of the second instalments of Aquaman and Shazam, first looks of Black Adam, The Flash, Superman & Lois, Sweet Tooth and the latest season of Batwoman and an exclusive look of the HBO Max’s Peacemaker, Titans and Doom Patrol. The event would also feature new content from animated shows such as Harley Quinn season 3 and Batman: Caped Crusader, in addition to video games.
The concept for DC Fandome was conceived last year when the COVID-19 pandemic stalled the plans of comic book conventions, which usually see numerous comic book fans gathering, some in full cosplay as well, and partake in events centred around content from the superhero genre. The free virtual convention received an overwhelming response in its debut year, with millions of fans from over 200 countries and regions participating in the same. The event was live-streamed over 24 hours.
Following its huge success, DC had hinted that this year’s Fandome would overtake its predecessor, which had witnessed the premiere of Wonder Woman 1984, in terms of grandeur.
