DC League of Super-Pets trailer: Keanu Reeves voices Batman, while Dwayne Johnson is Krypto the Super-Dog

DC has released a short trailer for the animated feature DC League of Super-Pets, based on DC Comics' Ace the Bat-Hound. The film’s teaser also confirms that Keanu Reeves will voice Batman while Kevin Hart lends voice to Ace the Bat-Hound. 

The video starts off with Reeves’ Batman and Hart’s Bat-Hound getting to know each other in a park. The trailer sticks to solid humour, with both the superheroes talking about their dark childhood until Ace starts licking Batman playfully.  

Dwayne Johnson’s Krypto the Super-Dog and John Krasinski’s Superman also make a short appearance in the trailer. The film also seems to take a more open world route, with Reeves’ Batman referencing Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight series in the teaser. 

Vanessa Bayer as PB, a pig who becomes Wonder Woman's pet, Natasha Lyonne as Merton, a speedy turtle that finds a home with The Flash, and Diego Luna as Ch'p, a squirrel with electrical powers who becomes the pet of Green Lantern are some of the other animal superheroes that from the DC comics that will be part of the animated feature. 

Marc Maron as Lex Luthor, Kate McKinnon, Thomas Middleditch, Ben Schwartz, and Jameela Jamil are also some of the other voice actors from the film. 

Jared Stern, who has previously worked with Warner Animation Group as a writer on The Lego Batman Movie and The Lego Ninjago Movie, is directing DC League of Super-Pets.

The movie is set to release in cinemas in India in English, Hindi, Tamil & Telugu on May 20, 2022. 

Reeves is the fourth actor to wear the cape and the cowl this year. Robert Pattison stars as Batman in Matt Reeves’ The Batman. Ben Affleck will reprise his role from the DCEU movies for The Flash. Michael Keaton will also return as The Caped Crusader in The Flash.
