DD Next Level box office collection day 1: Santhanam’s horror comedy starts staggeringly low

DD Next Level, the recently released Tamil horror comedy film starring actor-comedian Santhanam in the lead role, is running in theatres. The film was released on May 16, Friday. Serving as the fourth part of the Dhilluku Dhuddu franchise, DD Next Level did not live up to the expectations and made a small opening at the box office on the first day. The Santhanam film collected Rs 2.85 crore on day one in India.

After the successes of Dhilluku Dhuddu 1, Dhilluku Dhuddu 2, and DD Returns, the Tamil horror comedy film franchise released the fourth part, titled DD Next Level. The film was released in theatres on May 16, with Santhanam reprising his lead role. Prem Anand who helmed the third part also took up the reins of direction for the recent film as well.

As per the Sacnilk report, DD Next Level has collected Rs 2.85 crore in India on the first day of its release. With the film releasing alongside Soori-starrer Maaman, it will be competing at the box office over the weekend with the family drama.

After its theatrical run, DD Next Level will premiere on ZEE5. The film will also be available on OTTplay Premium. Before DD Next Level makes its streaming debut, you can stream the first three parts of the horror comedy franchise on OTTplay Premium.

DD Next Level stars Santhanam, Geethika, Selvaraghavan, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Nizhalgal Ravi, Kasthuri, Redin Kingsley, Yashika Anand, Motta Rajendran, and Maran, among others. The film revolves around a film critic played by Santhanam who gets invited to a special show screening to a theatre run by a failed filmmaker’s spirit. But when Santhanam and his family gets sucked into the film, it is up to the here to save the day and everyone from the ghosts before the end credits roll.
