We had earlier reported that the fourth instalment of the horror comedy franchise led by Santhanam, titled DD Next Level aka Devil's Double Next Level, is gearing up for release. Scheduled to release on May 16, the makers released the trailer of the film on social media on Wednesday.
The trailer of Devil's Double Next Level begins with Santhanam getting called to run a preview show of a film at an isolated theatre. We come to know that he is a film reviewer. Soon, he gets transported to an alternate world, with Selvaraghavan seemingly taking revenge on Santhanam for mocking films in the name of reviews. Santhanam, along with Rajendran, explore the new world they are in; encounter Gautham Menon who plays 'Raghavan, Investigating Officer' (not a Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu reference at all!), as Santhanam teases Redin Kingsley with Jailer reference. Soon, Santhanam breaks the fourth wall by taking a dig at the popular templates in films. We are also shown the protagonists entering a haunted palace, and Gautham Menon dancing to Uyirin Uyire from Kaakha Kaakha, by the beach. The movie promises to be a fun-filled entertainer.
Prem Anand, who helmed DD Returns, is back in the director's chair for DD Next Level. Gautham Menon, Selvaraghavan, Yashika Anand, and Rajendran are part of the cast of the film, set to release on May 16.
All parts of Dhilluku Dhuddu are available on OTTplay Premium to stream. Dhilluku Dhuddu is the first part, which was out in 2016. Dhilluku Dhuddu 2 is available on ZEE5, with Santhanam and the director once again coming together. The film is a spiritual sequel. DD Returns was released in 2023 and is a standalone sequel.
