Ajay Devgn is on a roll this year! Every week we get to hear some striking news about the star. Just a few days back we learnt that Devgn has been roped for the sequel of his 2018 film Raid, and now we heard that he is getting ready for another sequel, De De Pyaar De 2. The 2019 film was one of the most loved comedy flicks of the year, and Devgn’s romantic chemistry with Rakul Preet Singh struck a chord among the audience.
About De De Pyaar De sequel
The film De De Pyaar De’s budget was ₹50 crore, and it garnered a whopping ₹143 crore at the box office, marking Devgn’s huge success of 2019. The romantic-comedy was a tale of a love triangle, and the most striking part is highlighting the romance between huge age gap individuals. Today we learnt exclusively from Pinkvilla that Ajay Devgn is now gearing up for De De Pyaar De's sequel, which is expected to begin from June 2024. Not only that, the sequel is also reuniting Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh. No doubt it's going to be one hell of a laughter ride with the trio.
What to expect from the sequel?
While the original one explored the challenges faced by the male lead, Ashish (Ajay Devgn), in getting his family to accept his relationship with the much younger Ayesha (Rakul Preet Singh), according to reports, the sequel is expected to delve into the reactions of Ayesha's family to their daughter's relationship with a man significantly older than her now.
Someone close to Pinkvilla revealed that Ajay Devgn is currently busy shooting for both Singham Again and Raid 2. Interestingly, the makers will complete filming both the films at the same time, by the end of May 2024. Soon after that in the early weeks of June, Devgn will begin shooting for De De Pyaar De 2. This proves the 54-year-old star’s striking versatility and experience, as he will be switching from action genre to comedy genre within a few days.
What is Ajay Devgn's reaction?
The source also revealed that despite such a busy schedule with two big projects in hand, Ajay Devgn is pretty excited to work with Luv Ranjan once again in De De Pyaar De 2. The original one was the first collaboration between the duo. Luv Ranjan is mostly famous for his romantic-comedies like Akaash Vani (2013), Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011-2015) film series, Sony Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018), and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar (2023).
