One of the most anticipated films of the year, Deadpool & Wolverine, which is part of Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase IV, is scheduled to open on big screens worldwide on July 26. Two weeks prior to its theatrical release, Deadpool & Wolverine started taking reservations in India, and ever since then, the movie’s tickets have been selling out quickly.
The state is home to a number of Marvel fans, and the films in the franchise have generally done well in theatres. In Kerala, the response to Deadpool and Wolverine's advance reservations has been incredible. On the first three days of release, a lot of theatres in the state's major cities are already recording sold-out shows.
Kerala reported pre-sales that exceeded Rs 55 lakhs from 480 shows. It is expected that the Hollywood production would make good numbers in the state. Presumably, the Marvel will collect over Rs 1 crore on its first day. Due to the concurrent release of Dhyan Sreenivasan's Secret and Asif Ali's Level Cross in theatres, the movie will not have a solo release in Kerala. Kalki 2898 AD by Nag Ashwin is still playing in theatres with great success in the interim.
The action comedy is poised to revive the cult favourite Wolverine and is predicted to do exceptionally well at the box office in India. Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, who play Logan and Wade Wilson respectively, are back in the lead roles in this Marvel Studios production. Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese, and Jeb Wells play significant roles in the movie as well.
Over Rs 10 crore was raised for the movie from the sale of about 2.76 lakh tickets across India. On its opening day, the movie is predicted to bring in more than Rs 30 crore at the Indian box office. The movie is getting progressively more pre-sales ahead of its release tomorrow.
