The entry of Ryan Reynolds into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Deadpool has been a much-awaited event since Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. Now in a surprising twist, Deadpool has made an MCU crossover, not quite in the way we would have expected.

Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds has been cast in an upcoming project Free Guy, revolving around a man, who suddenly realizes he is living inside an open-world video game, which will soon shut down, and he must do everything to save his world. To promote his movie, Ryan has launched a fake reaction video series and that’s where the treat lies.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, he released a trailer reaction clip where we see Ryan Reynolds and Taiki Waititi coming together in their MCU avatars as Deadpool and Korg from Thor Ragnarok respectively. Sharing the video Reynolds wrote: "If you include Deadpool’s cocaine rider, this is the most expensive reaction video ever made.”

It reminded us that apart from both being roped in for the Free Guy, they are also a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Korg has been a regular member of Marvel Studios, after being introduced in Thor Ragnarok, and then appearing in magnum opus Avengers: Endgame, while Deadpool was originally a part of 20th Century Fox, but after the acquisition it came under the House of Mouse’s banner.

Although not an official debut, this is the first time Deadpool has been shown to be a part of the MCU. A third, and not shockingly an R-rated, Deadpool movie is under works at Disney, which acquired 20th Century Fox's entertainment properties in March of 2018. This video may be a strategy in disguise to acclimatize people to the idea of witnessing the Merc with a Mouth around established MCU characters before he makes his foul-mouthed entrance into the shared universe.
