Kishwar Merchant, who plays a pivotal role in the Disney+ Hotstar series Dear Ishq, says that she always wanted to work with the male protagonist of the show, Sehban Azim.
Talking about her experience of working on the series, Kishwar said, "I have known Sehban for the longest time, but we never got a chance to work together. So, I was really happy and thrilled to work with him on Dear Ishq."
She also shared that both of them had a lot of fun on the set of the show, and that Kishwar would irritate Sehban whenever she would find him busy on his phone. These incidents even made it to her Instagram stories. "Then, he would also start recording funny videos of me to get back at me," Kishwar added.
Dear Ishq is the story of two completely opposite personalities, who unknowingly falling for each other. It is directed by Atif Khan, and produced by Yash Patnaik and Mamta Patnaik under the Beyond Dreams Entertainment Private Limited banner. The show is based on the book, Write Me A Love Story, by Ravinder Singh.
Speaking about the show, director Atif had said earlier, "Dear Ishq is a classic tale of hate-to-love. It is a love story and I am sure that people will enjoy the ego clashes, fights and the process of understanding, and the love that develops between the lead characters, Asmita and Abhimanyu."
Sehban began his career with television shows like Dill Mill Gayye, Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, Humsafars, Thapki Pyar Ki, Bepannaah and Tujhse Hai Raabta.
Sharing details about his character, Sehban had said, "He is the blue-eyed boy of Indian publishing, known for his best-selling romance novels. He’s drunk on his success…not at all a quintessential guy. He’s rather callous and egoistic."
Dear Ishq also stars Niyati Fatnani as the female lead, apart from Kunal Verma, Sanjeev Seth, Beena Banerjee and Vikas Grover, among others. It is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. -
