In times when a full-on romance had become a rarety in cinema, the success of the Kannada film Dia on OTT (Amazon Prime Video) had proved that the genre continues to enjoy terrific following regardless of the language barrier. The Telugu remake of the much-loved love triangle, Dear Megha, too is getting ready to hit theatres across Telugu states this September 3. Starring Adith Arun, Megha Akash and Arjun Somayajula in pivotal roles, the film is directed by Sushanth Reddy and directed by Arjun Dasyan. The trailer of the film was released on August 29, Sunday.

The film revolves around the highs and lows in the love life of its female protagonist Megha. The trailer mirrors her confusion in choosing between the two men in her life at various phases - a college senior and an acquaintance whom she meets later, played by Arjun and Adith Arun respectively. It's obvious that Megha suffers a lot because of her choices and takes hard decisions that's bound to upset either of the men. From the innocence of first love to the suffering after heartbreak and the various shocks and surprises in her journey, Dear Megha has all the trappings of a classic modern-day romance.

The makers have made considerable changes to the Telugu version. Megha comes across as more vivacious and full of life, dressed more so like a film heroine unlike the vulnerable Dia, who had the simplicity and apprehensions of an everyday woman. While Megha's crush was an artist in the original, here he's a basketball player who's the apple of everyone's eyes. It remains to be seen if these changes work for or against the film. Gowra Hari has composed the music for Dear Megha, with the cinematography by I Andrew.

A couple of weeks earlier, the Telugu dubbed version of Dia (with the same title) too had released on Youtube and crossed three million views.
